About the Anatomy Imaging and Microscopy Facility

The Anatomy Imaging and Microscopy Facility is a University of Galway core facility specialising in advanced microscopy techniques. We are fortunate to be a Zeiss Labs@Location site since 2025.

Our highly experienced, specialist staff are committed to providing a supportive and resourceful working environment where researchers can expect expert advice and comprehensive training that equips them to achieve their goals. The Facility is available for students, researchers, academic and technical staff.

Our challenge is to meet present needs of researchers for microstructural characterisation and to meet new horizons by enabling cutting edge microscopy techniques.

The team are integrated into the local, national and international microscopy and imaging communities and networks and collaborate  closely with other core facilities and technology platforms and also welcome inquiries and collaboration or partnership with industry.
